Energies takeover our lives much more than we notice. The most difficult times in life show us so much of positivity around us. It could be just a gentle breeze that brushes against our face when we cry or a sudden rainbow appearing in the sky when you are seething with anger. This world is a miracle where the holiest and the nastiest co-exist but the goodness always takes over. And, this becomes more and more evident as we take the effort to notice.
This beige and black Tussar saree with Pattachitra is a real dream-come-true
Pattachitra is a type of exquisite painting technique from Eastern India that depicts folklore and mythological stories on cloth-based scrolls. From preparing the canvas, drawing gorgeous free-hand designs with graphite, filling in the colours with a delicate brush to the final process of glazing after the painting is done, every step is unique and that’s what gives that amazingly beautiful, rustic look to Pattachitra paintings. The master-artists are highly skilled and their immense patience is a virtue that lets them create these intricate pieces of art.
At Suta, our sarees become the canvases to bring this beautiful art-form to your wardrobes. The painting is done on Tussar silk.
The Tussar silk is a material that is synonymous with richness and lush beauty. This material is woven using silk threads obtained from the cocoons of silkworms belonging to the moth genus Antheraea. Since most of these silkworms are found in forest areas, Tussar silk is also known to be a wild silk variety or a forest product. The characteristic features of this material are the deep gold colour that the silk exudes and the amazing texture. This kind of silk is thicker than normal silk but needs to be taken care of and preserved since the fibres are shorter and can result in a decrease in durability. But then, anything precious has to be taken care of, right? The natural sheen of this fabric is inimitable and is perfect for festive occasions as well as when you want the spotlight on you!
The magical feel of this fabric combined with the weaving skills of talented weaver results in a fabric that will embrace you and make you shine!
