This is a made-in-heaven mul, screen-printed saree.
The process of screen-printing involves the usage of a mesh-screen that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension. A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. This way, the dye is applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image.
The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in many parts of India as mul mul, the fabric is buttery soft, flowy and delicately beautiful. This fine 100% cotton weave of a fabric is extremely fluid! It is also very light and feels like second skin. With the right care, it becomes softer and softer with every wash and truly feels like a hug that wraps you in its love!
