People have often told me that there are far better things lying ahead than the ones I’ve left behind. And I choose to believe that. Yet there are things of the past that I cling to and fail to move on from — you are one of them. We live geographical and time zones apart, when my day ends yours only begins. It’s not just the random plans of fun that I remember you by. We’ve lived through each other’s sufferings and gone through the process of healing together. Every time we got our hearts broken by a boy, our heads messed up at work or felt too lost to take the next step, we’ve been there for each other — sometimes giving advice, sometimes motivating to get up but mostly… mostly just hearing the other one talk.

A hug seemed to stop the rolling tears.

This is a made-in-heaven mul cotton, screen-printed saree.

The process of screen-printing involves the usage of a mesh-screen that is strung onto a metal or wooden frame at high tension.  A stencil with the negative image of what is to be printed is placed beneath the screen and emulsion is applied to create a positive image that lets the dye seep through the screen. This way, the dye is applied on the fabric through the screen to print the desired image. The base on which the design is printed for this blouse is made-in-heaven mul fabric.

The mul cotton is what we call ‘made in heaven’ at Suta. Known in many parts of India as mul mul, the fabric is buttery soft, flowy and delicately beautiful. This fine 100% cotton weave of a fabric is extremely fluid! It is also very light and feels like second skin. It is also very practical as summer attire and dries easily in monsoons as well! With the right care, it becomes softer and softer with every wash and truly feels like a hug that wraps you in its love!
