What You will Recieve: 1 Saree
For as long as she could remember, she had wanted to be an artist. She was especially fascinated by India’s architectural wonders, whether in the form of monuments, forts, palaces, or even old houses. Beyond their artistic appeal, she was drawn by the unique stories they held – the intricate jali work of Rajasthan’s havelis to the stone motifs that embellished the temples of the South. And so, when she learned about the ‘most beautiful door’ in Delhi, her expectations were already sky high. And she wasn’t disappointed – its details depicted a local legend of a hunter aiming his gun at a lion. No one would have expected to find such beauty hidden away in a seemingly ordinary alley, in Delhi’s Gali Chooriwallan street. Like that door, she knew that her art was a hidden treasure. And there would be a time when someone like her would stumble across the pieces she created and resonate with it.
This gorgeous brown saree made of modal crepe is a tribute to India’s rich architectural heritage and the hidden gems they contain.
Viscose and modal are fibres derived from plants. They comprise a compound called cellulose, which lends stiffness and support to plants. This cellulose is extracted and then realigned, to create a fabric that is soft, durable and breathable. When both the fibres are combined, modal imparts lightness, and a fine feel to the fabric. Both the fibres are responsibly sourced and have a low carbon footprint.
