What they didn’t know about her was that she wielded the key to another realm, a place where reality surrendered to her whims. With closed eyes, she slipped into this land of dreams, a world that was painted with the hues of her imagination. There, she roamed freely through landscapes woven from memories and desires, a universe where time danced to her tune. In this world, she could soar like a bird, swim like a mermaid, and converse with stars. Yet, as dawn broke, she emerged from her reverie, carrying fragments of her dreams into her waking life. With each venture into her wonderland, she nurtured the fires of her creativity, finding solace, adventure, and renewal. Her dreams were her refuge, a canvas where her spirit could unfurl, a realm where she was the author of endless tales.
Let your dreams define your destiny, when you wear this beautiful black saree made of Kota cotton, featuring hand-embroidered Chikankari work.
Kota cotton fabric is renowned for its softness, light weight and ease of wear. It is made using an open weave with fine checks, which are called ‘khats’. This weave ensures that the resultant fabric is airy and comfortable. This Kota cotton fabric forms the base of these sarees, which are further embellished with Lucknowi chikankari work. Chikankari is a style of embroidery that has its roots in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. The word 'chikan' is derived from the Persian word 'chikeen'. In its most traditional form, chikankari work reflects the influence of the intricate carving patterns found in Mughal architecture. The legacy of chikan work in Lucknow dates back to more than 200 years.
