What You will Recieve: 1 Saree

From Ilana she learned to fall in love with the moon. Ilana was what they called a wild thing – unruly and untamable. Like a tumbleweed, she went where the wind took her. They’d met while Meera was on holiday. Ilana was a backpacker, with nothing save a few clothes and a font of glorious stories to her name. She’d never had a permanent roof over her head, and never stayed anywhere for more than a few months at a time. Ilana believed that the universe would provide. She was nature’s moonchild – precious and pure. But if there was ever a constant in her life, it was her conversations with the moon, and it was a habit she lent to Meera as well. Together, they spent many nights sharing their deepest thoughts, darkest fears, boldest ambitions and rambling nothings with the glowing ball of silver magic illuminating the night sky. And, in those rare moments, it almost felt as though the universe had an answer.

Let your heart be your compass, in this vibrant pink handloom Jamdani saree.

Jamdani is an incredibly intricate weaving technique. Each motif is inlaid into the fabric using a supplementary weft technique. Here, extra weft threads, often denser than the base, are added using individual spools while weaving. This technique makes the motifs appear as though they are floating on the fluid cotton fabric. Jamdani weaving is highly time intensive and it takes anywhere between several weeks to months to weave one saree. It is indeed a labour of love.
