It was the most exciting time of the year – Onam was just around the corner. She dutifully marked each day leading up to the festival on the calendar with a small tick. She instantly knew that that would what she would bring to life – with the rice grains, flour, white blossoms, marigolds and asters. As she worked, the bare floor bloomed into a vision of perfection.
