The artisans use this technique to create beautiful designs. Working on a design using kantha stitch completely is a fully hand-done, laborious process and thus each piece of work takes many weeks to be completed. As kantha work comes to life on fabrics, it transforms into a legacy that is often passed forward as heirloom.
Appliqué work lends a magical beauty to the fabric with ornamental needlework bringing together pieces of fabric onto the base fabric and resulting in unique designs. Smaller pieces of fabrics are used to sew designs on top of the larger fabric, creating a delightful kaleidoscope of patterns and colours.
