All about viscose sarees and why you need one in your wardrobe!
If you’ve been following us for a while now, you’d know that over the years Suta has used a multitude of fabrics and fabric blends to create the plethora of sarees that we’ve launched. One of the most common fabrics we use is Viscose and here’s why.
Viscose is a semi-synthetic fibre that’s been obtained from wood pulp and then processed to achieve the degree of wearability and usability that our sarees are so famously known for. It also has the property to mimic the texture and feel of fabrics like cotton, linen and silk. Further it’s got great durability that can sustain years when taken care of well. Viscose is also biodegradable, faster than cotton even!
We’d love for our sarees to be worn through the year and through the seasons for all occasions. Viscose is a fabric that’s light-weight for the summers and also heat retentive for the chilly winters.
Saree collections like ‘Oh Darling’ and ‘Phooling Around’ bring to you sarees that are made from Modal Viscose and are a perfect example of how we’ve been able to achieve the lustre and lightweight nature of silk whilst omitting the cruelty of sericulture. Modal viscose is one such variation that has been sourced from sustainable forestry.
Suta’s other saree collections like ‘Tropical State of Mind’ use a Mul-Viscose blend that combines the buttery softness of Mul Mul cotton with the unique textures of Viscose. Adding our own Suta twist to the saree, we’ve also added ‘slubs’ (slightly lumpy pieces of thread on the saree) for a fun texture and an absolute crowd favourite for all occasions.
Viscose has been a great canvas for our design team to execute their creative vision through the sarees and blouses that you see today. Great quality, great design and a unique charm is what defines Suta!
