It was a spell as old as time. A drop of rosewater that had been infused with withered roses was enough to make her daughter lose every memory of her lover. He knew that the evil that had been done could also be undone, if only he tried hard enough. One day, and old lady told him of the magical bougainvillea blossoms that grew in the valley outside their town. If their love was true, these blossoms would help her remember. It took him several days of arduous travels to find the blossoms but he persisted. He laid them down beside his sleeping lover and waited outside until the morning. With the first rays of the sun, his lover arose and was overwhelmed by a rush of sweet memories of her one, true love. The world could try as hard as they wanted to, but their love was eternal, just like the bougainvillea spells.
