On a whim I decided to peel into the tall jar in the cupboard to check how my spiced orange pickles were coming along. Winters, during my childhood, were synonymous with these pickles. I hadn’t tasted them for many years, ever since my mother passed away. But then, a few weeks ago, I decided to figure the recipe out by myself and make my first batch. I scooped out a tiny spoonful and my mouth exploded with a familiar medley of sweet and spice.
